When I first read that quote, I was like, WTF?
But now I get it.
I was the girl who read The Feminine Mystique in high school and who considers herself a beneficiary of the firebrand feminism of Betty Friedan and Gloria Steinem.
So this quote raised my hackles.
I understand it's deeper meaning now: The dance of co-creation.
And it is creating incredibly wonderful ripples through my life.
"The Masculine leads, but the Feminine goes first..."
...within ourselves, with our men (or the person who embodies masculine energy in our life), and with the world.
And it is 100% P*ssytwinkle.
Ok, stay with me on this...
Creating what you want in your life starts with your recognition of what is not there, a space that is waiting to be filled, and a desire for what you would love to fill it with.
Desire to create is "her" = love= Feminine energy. (P*ssytwinkle).
And that is all we ask of "her"-
only to love what "she" loves and want what "she" wants.
That is "her" gift.
And "her" sole contribution to creation.
You may be asking, "So what happens next? Nothing? How does shit get done?"
Answer: Because of "him".
Wtf?
Stay with me....
"As within, so without."
Because "he" is both in you, and outside of you.
YOUR competency, skills and talents- the masculine energy part of you that you use to get shit done.
The competency, skills and talents that the men- or source of masculine energy regardless of gender- in your life offer to help you create what you desire.
And all the resources in the Universe that provide for you, for "her".
"He" is the energy and provision of the Masculine, within you and outside of you.
"His" purpose is to make "her" desire manifest with his tools, his skill, his competency.
For the Feminine part of you.
For your desire.
For what you love just because you love it.
For YOU.
"The Masculine leads, but the Feminine goes first."
Your desire goes first.
"His" how leads the way to creation.
But "her" what came first.
And "she" is "his" why.
The dance of Masculine/Feminine energies of co-creation is how everything you desire happens.
Within you.
And in your relationships.
And in the world.
It starts with your desire.
This is P*ssytwinkle.
This is honoring what you are feeling, what you love, what you want, what inspires you, what is good for you.
And putting that first.
This is changing my life.
It is how I to bring my desires into creation, in my art and my business, by harnessing the Masculine energy I have to champions what I love and desire, and then create it.
In my relationship, I am dismantling my protective ego that over-functions to stay safe, stay self-sufficient to earn love, and to receive the gifts and talents of my man who LOVES to help me create what I want I desire.
